Name of Project:
Harvest and Recovery of Fallen Timber From Hurricane Felix.
On September 5, 2007, hurricane Felix, a category 5 hurricane, made landfall on the north Atlantic region of Nicaragua. The hurricane’s devastating winds and rain leveled the old-growth tropical forest on a gigantic scale. (Forestry Report available upon request).
Nicagreen has concession with the Nicaraguan Government to recover, harvest and sell fallen hardwoods, timber, and other valuable wood on 800,000 acres of land damaged by Hurricane Felix. Nicagreen has a contract with Rich Resources to extract fallen timber. Under the government contract, Please see accompanying materials for copies of the contract, as well as Forestry department survey and report.
Nicagreen plans to recover the majority of the timber by heli-logging operations. Nicagreen is looking to sell an equity position of the contract in exchange for $2,500,000 US. The monies would be used to lease helicopter, heavy equipment and to partially finance the operation (see list of equipment). Nicagreen is also putting up its own money and equipment towards the project.
